COVID 19 has turned our world virtual. Here are some great reasons to take music lessons online!
1. No Commuting!
Studying online means you don’t have to leave your home. While this has been a way some musicians have been teaching for years, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought this to be the only way to learn in a completely safe environment. This also means you’ll have more time to warm-up and be ready for your online lesson without having to commute.
2. Flexibility
The best part about not having to commute is that it’s much easier to find time to schedule a lesson. It’s much easier to keep our hectic lives in order when we don’t have to leave the house for everything. As teachers, we find it much easier to find times to teach and give makeup lessons. Lessons can occur no matter the weather and you don’t have to worry about your student forgetting their instrument or music for their lesson (as long as the instrument is already at home, of course!).
3. Comfort
Comfort in music lessons is something teachers strive for. We want you to be as comfortable as possible in order to create a welcome and ___ learning environment. In busy households this can be challenging, but we hope that for just one hour each of our students can find a quiet room in which to make the most out of their lessons.
4. Find the Best Teacher for You
The glory of teaching online right now is that there are many teachers also teaching online. That means you can try and find the best teacher that works for you. Be selective when choosing your teacher and/or program. Most teachers offer a free trial lesson for you to get a feel of the teacher’s way of teaching.
5. Easily record your lessons
With lessons being online, you can choose to record your lessons to get the most out of them. If you forget to write something down or would like to go over again, you can re-watch your lessons! Revisit techniques and ideas your teacher may have gone over with you again in your practice sessions. This can be a very productive way to learn and a way to get the most out of your lessons.
6. Technology
Many worry that online lesson might be less value an in-person lesson. Teaching online has changed drastically just within this past year. Thankfully, technology is ever evolving and it is becoming much easier to have a full-quality lesson online. You'll learn just as much (if not more!) and at the same pace as traditional lessons.
We hope this helps lead you to your decision to take online lessons!
